Prof Mark James Cook

Chair of Medicine at The University of Melbourne, Director of Neurology at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne

Cook is a neurologist specialising in the treatment of epilepsy. After completing specialist training in Melbourne, he undertook an MD thesis ('High-Resolution MRI in Adult Focal Epilepsy') whilst working as Brain Research Fellow at Queen Square, London. He returned to St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne to continue his interest in neuroimaging in epilepsy. In more recent years Cook’s interests have included computations models of epilepsy and seizure prediction, and cortical excitability.

Carol Ireland

CEO of Epilepsy Action Australia

Carol currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics at the University of Sydney, the Steering Committee for the NSW government’s Paediatric Epilepsy Trials (Medicinal Cannabis Research), and the Australian Advisory Council for the Use of Medicinal Cannabis.

Dr Teresa Nicoletti

Dr Teresa Nicoletti leads Mills Oakley’s national IP, Health and Life Sciences team. Teresa is both a lawyer and scientist with more than 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries in Australia and New Zealand. She has also worked across a number of other product-related industries, including foods, cosmetics, veterinary pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and industrial chemicals. More recently, a lot of her work has centered around the developing medicinal cannabis framework at both the Commonwealth and State/Territory levels.

Dr Ross Walker

Cardiologist, Author, Speaker & Media Health presenter

Dr Ross Walker is an eminent practicing cardiologist with over 35 years’ experience as a clinician. For the past 20 years, he has been focusing on preventative cardiology and is one of Australia’s leading preventative health experts. Author of seven best-selling books, a health presenter in the Australian Media, including regular appearances on the Nine Network’s ‘Today Show’ and ‘A Current Affair’, and Sky News, Switzer Business. He also has a weekly radio show on Sydney’s 2UE/ 4BC &2CC with other regular segments on 2UE, 6PR, 4BC and 3AW.

Adam Miller

Founder of BuddingTech and The Medical Cannabis Council

Adam completed his studies of Business Entrepreneurship at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Sweden's Jönköping University for international business in 2009. In 2016 Adam published two Australian industry White Papers with MGC Pharmaceuticals & The University of Sydney on medical cannabis. Additionally, Adam is the organiser of Seedlings, Australia first medical cannabis innovation conference.
